Flamenco Classes

flamenco class

Learn the exciting rhythms and footwork of flamenco, the dance that originates with the gypsies of southern Spain. The Spanish Dance Society, an international organization dedicated to excellence in Spanish dance, teaches flamenco through a structured syllabus and certificate program. Maria Gitana, a Maestra de Baile with S.D.S, offers technique for castanets, arms, turns and footwork and a complete choreography each 8 week session. Women need a long full skirt and all students need to wear sturdy heeled shoes (new and gently used flamenco shoes available for purchase). Castanets are available for purchase at class for $25-$40, or bring your own.

All the classes listed below are held at the Flamenco Gitana Studio, Room 7, located in the old Crown Hill School building, 9250 14th Ave NW, Seattle, where Holman Rd meets 15th Ave NW.
